Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Card Book – Women Role Models and Champions in Energy Efficiency Sectors
This publication has been developed to highlight and document the contributions of women as role models and change agents in the energy efficiency sector. Using a storytelling approach, the book presents the profiles of women from diverse professional backgrounds who have played a significant role in promoting the efficient and sustainable use of energy, while also advancing the principles of gender equality and social inclusion (GESI).
The primary aim of this publication is to encourage the application of GESI principles in the energy sector through more inclusive and participatory approaches. It also explores the various challenges faced by women in a male-dominated work environment, as well as the strategies they have employed to overcome these barriers.
As both an advocacy and educational tool, the GESI Card Book is intended to serve as a source of inspiration for various stakeholders, while also reinforcing the commitment to gender mainstreaming in the energy sector—especially in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of energy efficiency initiatives.
